Out of over 150 entries, the 2019 Hyundai Kona and Hyundai Accent were selected as Best Buy Award winners for the subcompact car and subcompact crossover categories. The award is based on vehicle attributes and value compared to other models in its class. The award, which has been running for more than 50 years, is well-known for unbiased new and used car reviews for US consumers.
“The Best Buy recognition for Accent and Kona emphasizes our efforts in delivering outstanding value through eye-catching design, advanced technology and high quality vehicles,” said Scott Margason, Director, Product Planning, Hyundai Motor America.
The Consumer Guide professionals evaluate many vehicles throughout the year to determine the usefulness of their features, plus the qualities that make for a safe, reliable, and enjoyable transportation option.
The Hyundai Accent, specifically, impressed judges with its standard convenience features, color touchscreen, rearview camera, and other tech details. The vehicle infotainment system was rated as a “seamless and intuitive operation” for drivers to use smartphone functions, navigation, audio streaming, and more.
On the other hand, the Hyundai Kona CUV was recognized for the value of the safety and convenience features that come standard such as forward collision assist, lane keeping assist, driver attention warning, and more. This model also has many of the infotainment system features that customers love about the Hyundai Accent. The optional turbo engine is a bonus as well.
