2024 Hyundai Kona Overview

This is a big year for the Kona as the new model ushers in the nameplate’s second generation. The Kona has been a game changer in the subcompact crossover segment since being introduced, and with the new model, Hyundai aims to cement its place as a top option in the class. This Kona boasts a sleeker aesthetic, a redesigned cabin and many more standard and optional features.
Exterior - Hyundai Dealer serving Staten Island NY
The big change here is the new exterior design for the 2024 Hyundai Kona. It looks like a vehicle that costs much more than it does, and the design is just more SUV-like in general. Hyundai has also introduced a range of new exterior color options, including some eye-popping choices. In order to accommodate the additional legroom, Hyundai had to expand the overall length of the Kona by about 6 inches. It’s still a subcompact but at the upper end of the range now, which is a trend we’re seeing across the segment. Aluminum wheels are standard. Wheels range from 16 to 19 inches in size, and notable options include roof rails and a hands-free liftgate.
Interior - 2024 Hyundai Kona near Staten Island NY
The 2024 Hyundai Kona is a five-passenger vehicle and is now even more spacious inside, which we think will impress you considering the subcompact form factor. The front row accommodates even tall drivers. The second row is spacious enough for adults, and there is more than 25 cubic feet of cargo space available even with all seats in use. The cabin has been completely redesigned. The center console has been trimmed down to allow for more space, and ambient lighting strips have been added throughout to give the Kona a more tech-oriented appeal. The centerpiece of the new cabin is dual 12.3-inch displays. The base trim is impressively equipped, and options include leather upholstery, Bose audio, heated and ventilated seating, wireless charging and so forth.
Hyundai Kona Mechanical specs
Push-button start and proximity keyless entry are standard equipment for the 2024 Hyundai Kona near Staten Island. Remote engine start is optional and included beyond the base trim. There are also performance-oriented N and N Line trims available that have some mechanical enhancements that you won’t find on the standard models.
Powertrain - Hyundai Dealership near Staten Island NY
Front-wheel drive is standard with the 2024 Hyundai Kona, but all-wheel drive is an option with all trim levels available through our dealership serving Staten Island Woodbridge Elizabeth. There are also two powertrains, which are tied to the available trims. The SE and SEL models have a continuously variable transmission mated to a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque. The N Line and Limited have a dual-clutch seven-speed automatic transmission mated to a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 195 hp and 195 pound-feet of torque. Details about the 2024 Kona N were not available as of this writing but we suspect similar performance to the previous generation: FWD only, dual-clutch eight-speed and 276-hp turbo four.
Safety - 2024 Hyundai Kona dealer
Dual 12.3-inch infotainment touch screens are standard with the 2024 Kona at Sansone Hyundai. Most of the advanced driver assists are included as standard equipment as well. There are a few exceptions, including adaptive cruise control, which is standard with the Limited and optional with the SEL. The 2024 Kona also gets the new Hyundai steering wheel that is becoming standard across the lineup. It provides haptic feedback for the advanced driver-assistance systems.
